Approaching the Holidays!

Life is pretty crazy right now! Lucas is growing so big and exploring EVERYTHING!! His laugh is so funny and he is so adorable! School is getting hectic for Brycen and me and we are definitely looking forward for a break this holiday season! We get to take Lucas on an airplane for the first time and it will be his first Christmas, we are pretty excited for it! We hope you all are doing well and being safe on the roads as winter sets in! Hilarious and Sad

So Brycen and I are playing a musical number in church today. I am playing the flute and Brycen is playing the piano. Well, Lucas cries and is emotionally distraught whenever I play the flute. It's one part hilarious and one part sad. He really gets very upset, like it scars him. He cries really hard and sniffs for a long time afterward. It's weird. I realized until this week that I haven't played my flute since the baby was born, so he's never heard it before, but still it's weird. So, when we play our number today, Lucas will have to be out in the hall with a friend so he doesn't go ballistic. What a crazy thing!

Lucas 7 (almost 8) months!

Boy it's been awhile since I've blogged! We are in the middle of our school semester and life is going pretty well. Lucas is loving life and learning so fast! He is so much fun to have. He has 2 bottom teeth now and is sitting up pretty well and rolling around all over the place. He can't quite scoot or crawl yet but he is working very hard at it. We are getting cooler weather here the last few days... winter is coming... it even snowed the other day. Hope you all are well and enjoying life!

Officially 6 months old!

As Lucas is getting older I am realizing just how camera crazy I am! I have taken SOOO many pictures of my adorable baby! But can you blame me? Just look at him! He is so cute, I just can't get over it. So there will just have to be a bajillion photos of him! And I would love to share them with you! We went camping 2 weeks ago, and Lucas loves it. Of course he had a playpen to sleep in and Brycen and I slept on a queen size air mattress. But that is my kind of camping! Lucas loves being outside, after the campout we went on a cave exploration/hike, it was a blast. And of course Lucas liked that too! My boy just loves being outside! Sitting and Smiling (Lucas 23 & 24 Weeks)

I am finally able to get some awesome pictures of Lucas smiling! We have had such a fun summer and school starts in 3 weeks, CRAZY! Brycen went camping with his parents and brothers this last weekend and had a fun time. Lucas is finally started sitting up on his own now, albeit very wobbly! He grabs his feet and sucks on them and it is so funny! Babies are very flexible. He loves laughing and playing. He especially loves his 'Monkey' action figure from Kung Fu Panda, it's his favorite toy! We were happy to find out that Brycen gets a Graduate Research Assistantship scholarship! What a blessing! Heavenly Father is really taking care of us! Lucas is sleeping through the night very well and is currently working on being able to put himself to sleep at night. With the summer ending, we are having some friends move away and working on making new friends. We love going to "Book Babies" at the library. Lucas is very good at making new friends there. And his mom is making some too! Hope you all enjoy the pictures and have a great week!

Lucas 22 Weeks

 Lucas is just adorable! I am so happy to be his mother! He is smiling so much more for the camera and I love it! He is eating rice cereal now and just can't get enough! He tries to help me get the spoon into his mouth, which makes it quite challenging to actually get the food in, but it is very cute!

We have had a wonderful and busy couple of weeks. We spent the 4th with Brycen's family, and had a family reunion with them last week, so things have been crazy! Lucas is getting so big and trying to escape from his crib now, what a goofball! He is so adorable! I love his funny faces! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Lucas 18 &19 Weeks

Lucas is doing so great! He is 16 pounds now and is such a lot of fun! He is growing up so fast! He is talking and trying to sit up. He hates tummy time and has a hard time rolling over. When he finally does it scares him and he cries, it is sad but really cute.

Lucas 4 Months

Lucas is growing up so fast! I had a lot of fun taking pictures this week! He is so adorable! He was able to reach and grab a toy for the first time last week, which was so cute! He is talking so much now and we wonder if he really does understand what we say, he is so good at having conversations, we love him so much.

Lucas 14 Weeks Old

When I was little, my mom used to do the "Eye Winker" for me and I loved it. Lucas really likes it too! His coos and laughs are so adorable! And we loved him in this little baseball outfit! We can't believe he is 14 weeks old. He loves being outside and cries when we go inside and he isn't ready to. He sucks his thumb a lot now to soothe himself and calm down. He is so awesome!

Lucas 10 weeks old!

I can't believe how fast the time flies by! Lucas is healthy and mostly happy (especially when he gets to eat!) and growing so big! He has taken to sucking/licking his fist like a lollipop, and it is so cute I just had to get a video of it! He had his baby blessing a couple of weeks ago and he looked so handsome in his little white suit! Brycen is getting ready to graduate next week with his Bachelor's Degree and we are so excited for him. Our little family is doing great!

Mama was sleeping peacefully in bed when all of a sudden she felt like she had to go to the bathroom. But, she didn’t make it in time. How embarrassing! So she changed clothes and climbed back in bed, only to have to go to the bathroom again 15 minutes later. Once again she didn’t make it in time. Feeling confused about her blunders, Mama reasoned that something must be happening. It was about 3:45am and normally she wouldn’t have bothered her sleeping husband, but thinking it could be “baby time” she decided to ask for Daddy to come and help. “Brycen I need you” she called out. Noticing the cries came from the bathroom, Daddy kindly replied “Do you need some toilet paper?” Mama informed him that the toilet paper supply was not the problem. After assessing the situation they still weren’t sure what to do so they both went back to bed. But as soon as they lay down Mama quickly jumped back up and headed back to the bathroom. Well that was enough to convince them to start packing up and getting ready for their baby to come. The bags still needed packed because the baby wasn’t due for another month, but they packed all up and drove to the hospital and walked right into Labor and Delivery. Mama told the nurses that she thought she was in labor but that the doctor was out of town. Shirley, the RN on call that night, reassured them that she would get the on-call doctor and took Mama and Daddy into the labor room to prepare to bring their little bundle of joy into the world. Nine hours of hard work and patience paid off as they welcomed their baby boy to their family.
